Ransomville Speedway has always been my second home. Growing up, I spent countless weekends cheering on my Great Uncle as he raced. It was not until 2019 that I finally got behind the wheel myself, jumping into my friend Orval's 602 Crate Sportsman for a Novice Division Race. Lets just say, I had a close encounter with the wall on that first try! But we straightened everything out and Orval took the checkered flag the next week.
The speedway and everything else shut down in 2020, but we managed to get our hands on our first car - a 2007 Chassis that needed some TLC. With the help of my friends, and especially my younger brother Chris, we got the car race ready and started the 2021 season strong. We only managed to get 4 races in when I lost Chris, my biggest supporter, in a car accident just a few miles down the road from the speedway. It was a massive blow to all of us, and everything went on hold
During the off-season we decided that it was time to keep pushing forward with racing. With the support of Orval and R Harris Motorsports, I raced in 11 events in 2022, and earned a 5th place finish for the Novice division. I learned a lot about car setups and racked up a lot of valuable seat time.
The future was very uncertain for us as we ended the 2022 season. We needed a lot to get race ready for 2023. That is when Uncle Jeff stepped in and Moore Family Racing was born. Dad, Uncle Jeff and I spent the off season giving the car a major overhaul. A new body, new wrap and now... A new Division!
We raced in a total of 14 races during the 2023 season and as our first year it was a tough one. Our season was ripe with mechanical issues and eventually would end early with a blown motor, but still managed to take 13th place in points!
Looking ahead to 2024, things are looking pretty bright! Grandpa Moore came through pretty big this year and got us a brand new Killer Crate 602 Engine for the season. We have a lot of great sponsors this year and we are excited to hit the track and show everyone what we have!
